I've been an avid Rooibos drinker since I was a little girl. I loved the smell and the taste and it reminded me of home, of cold winters mornings before school and all things South African.
I used to enjoy a cup of Rooibos strong, with a little honey and a squeeze of lemon juice for some reason. As the years have passed I've enjoyed this amazing herb as dessert, as a Red Cappuccino with almond milk and even in skincare and scrubs.
Rooibos is rich in antioxidants, flavorful and a caffeine-free alternative that has been enjoyed in South Africa for centuries. Naturally, when I was gifted by Red Espresso with a bunch of their products I knew their Rooibos Smoothie Mix would be the first thing I'd try.
Smoothies are a go to for me since I transformed my health and now you can add a scoop of potent antioxidants, strong flavor and a rich color to any smoothie with the Red Espresso Smoothie Mix.
Here's my favorite recipe so far:
Ingredients -
1 tsp of Red Espresso Rooibos Smoothie Mix
1 cup unsweetened Almond or Oat Milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp organic raw cacao powder
1 bananas (fresh or frozen)
1 tbsp almond butter
1 fresh Date (optional)
1 tbsp good quality MCT oil (optional)
Make Your Smoothie
Add all of the ingredients to your blender. Blend well, until smooth and creamy.
Pour into a tall glass and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cacao. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
